EME2040 Journal 8

     While working on my Web Design assignment I have learned a various amounts of new skills. I enjoyed the flexibility given to me , to be as creative as I wanted. When creating my web page , I noticed that less is actually more. In other words as much as I wanted to be extra and have all of these different features on my web design I decided that simple and clean actually grabs the attention more then a web page that simply may "have a lot going on". I actually really enjoyed this assignment and will do it again if instructed. But the one dislike I can say is the timing it took for me to complete this and I believe that this is only because of all of the hyperlinks and small details that needed to be added in order for the high pass. The things that I have learned from this assignment can be used in my future career because now I know what the real meaning of "less is more" means. I will teach my students that your assignment can be so simple and neat , that it will grab the attention of someone without you even realizing.

        For starters, when working in Diigo, it is much easier to navigate then it is when working in Wiiks. While working in Diigo, I have learned that all of the extra tabs keeps everything organized and keeps the overall page with the clean/neat appearance. I feel that using Diigo in my classroom is just like another software I like to use, Class Dojo. Diigo reminds me of Class Dojo because of all of its great features when it comes to students and teachers being able to communicate with one another. Diigo has this great notification system as well, so I know that in the future if I decide to use this software and want to get any important message out , I know that Diigo will get the job done in making sure all of my students receive the information given to them. 

    When a teacher is faced with using technology in the professional development field I feel that there are many pros and cons. The pros,  there are many ways of reaching out to other teachers and finding different ways to help one another when it comes to their students. Learning the various educational sites that will help better their students in the long run is also a pro for teachers using technology. As far as cons, it may be hard for teachers to locate sites that are matching the learning level of their different students. In other words, will the website be easy enough for a first grader to navigate while still having to find a website that accommodates a student in the fifth grade.
