My experience as a distance learner is quite simple. Distant learning has it's pros and cons but for me its actually more pros than cons. The one thing I love about distant learning is the simple fact that I am able to travel while still being able to attend classes and do homework. I know that I could just pick all online classes but with distance learning, it allows for zooms and still a lot of class interaction while still all being online. Distant learning also allows for the ability to chose classes that much easier. In other words, every time it's time to pick classes, there is usually a lot of chaos within the fact most individuals aren't able to get their classes because all of the classes are full. By distant learning being the new norm, it helps smooth the process of picking classes that much easier. If I just had to pick a con of distant learning it would only be the fact that in person class interaction is more genuine than online. So by classes being online it simply doesn't give the same energy as in person.

OER is a resource that are also teaching materials that you are able to use freely and also reuse with no cost. OER materials include things like the sidebars on our class canvas site, such as course materials , modules, zoom, discussions, announcements, etc. These are all examples of open educational resources in plain sight. Above is a link to a open educational resource that explains some ways OER can be helpful to not only students but teachers as well. It gives some background information on OER and how individuals can promote it while still using blended learning. I love this site because it gives many examples and steps into completing the steps in making OER leaning easier on everyone's part.
Some new skills that I have learned while working on the two Powerpoint assignments is all of the transitions. I knew the simple task in clicking the transition tab to create certain things but I have learned how to organize my slides and also how to make it where if someone else was viewing my slides they will not be able to move on to the next slide unless they press the button I made specifically for that slide for example a space bar is the only thing that allows you to proceed to the next slide. I love working on these two PowerPoints because it actually made me realize that doing PowerPoints isn't as hard as everyone makes them seem. Below are two screenshots of my PowerPoints I created.
